Nakhon Si Thammarat is about 750 kilometers from Bangkok, a quick 1-hour and 15-minute flight away. It’s 280 kilometers from Hat Yai (a 4-hour drive), and 210 kilometers from Koh Samui and Koh Phangan (about a 5-hour journey by car and ferry). From the Andaman Sea coast, such as Krabi and Phuket, it’s also about a 5-hour drive. Home to 1.5 million people, this largely rural province thrives on fruit agriculture, farmland, and traditional fishing. The province has 23 districts (Thai: อำเภอ) and is bordered by Songkhla, Phatthalung, Trang, Krabi, and Surat Thani provinces. It features six national parks, including Southern Thailand’s highest peak, Khao Luang, standing tall at 1,835 meters (6,000 feet). Forests cover 1,820 km² (700 sq mi), which is 18.4 percent of the area. Visitors can indulge in fine local foods and fresh fruits, and enjoy favorable weather year-round, with a gentle monsoon season from September to October.

 

IACS 2025 will take place at the Twin Lotus Hotel in Nakhon Si Thammarat city, which features rooms, halls, restaurants, and a shuttle service to the airport. The hotel is 15 kilometers from Nakhon Si Thammarat International Airport and 30 kilometers from Walailak University. It is conveniently located on Phatthanakan Khukwang Road, one of the city’s main roads in the new business district, with access to local transportation. It is opposite the Lotus Superstore and a 10-minute drive to Central Shopping Mall. Additionally, it is just a 10-minute drive to City Hall, where you can visit the downtown market and heritage sites.

Buses

The Public Transport Company Limited runs regular and air-conditioned buses from Morchit Bus Terminal and the Southern Bus Terminal, Bangkok, to Nakhon Si Thammarat. Many private companies offering air-conditioned buses at the Southern Bus Terminal as well. For more information
